An artist who also writes like this — that’s a real rarity. I have a deep love for symbolists. Respect

"Tranquility", Larisa Ruy
60×100 cm, sculpture on canvas, acrylic, gold leaf, author's technique, 2019.
This work is not merely a visual depiction of herbs. It is a field of feminine energy, renewal, and inner harmony.
The composition weaves together three sacred plants: sage, patchouli, and vervain — each carrying profound symbolic meanings, revered since ancient times.
🌿 Sage — known as the "plant of immortality."
In Ancient Egypt, it was called the "savior of life," while in Rome it was considered a divine gift for health and fertility. In Greece, it was revered for preserving youth. Across many traditions, sage was also used for cleansing spaces and attracting prosperity.
🌿 Patchouli — the scent of passion and wealth.
In Christian symbolism, patchouli represented protection and sanctity, and across cultures, it was believed to attract material abundance and financial well-being.
🌿 Vervain — the herb of love, peace, protection, and healing.
Vervain was traditionally used to harmonize inner states, dispel negativity, and bring purification and peace.
This piece acts as an energetic amulet, gently balancing the space it inhabits.
It nurtures themes of feminine strength, inner equilibrium, youthfulness, and prosperity.
The painting has been sold. It is part of a private collection in Ukraine.
